To eat or not to eat

With Nele being a food engineer, we certainly were not going to miss checking out some colorful food stalls. Yes, you are seeing it correctly. Those are scorpions, centipedes, cockroaches, silkworms, etc…ready to be grilled on a stick, on the spot, on the go. We politely declined to taste those. I know, I know, I have been going with the flow the last 4 months and done amazing things but I do have my limits. The visual experience was enough this time. LOL

zizi~scorpions does not sound good to me also, but sun-dried then fried centipede was delicious in my memory-When I got parotitis I ate 3 of them per day as the cure, and it works! when my face is back to normal I thought I got addicted to that taste...and texture

BTW, Fried young cicada is a very popular dish in north China, and we ate a lot in the summer, as everyday dish not only as medicine.(In south they ate fried silkworm, tried, not as good)

Dear Paul,
I really had a great time, very interesting for me to see how you are living there, to see all these wonderful places (the Great Wall stays my favourite) and last but not least I enjoyed very much spending this time with you. It was also a good preparation for my trip, you have learned me about the Chinese culture etc. and that certainly helped me in understanding better some situations during my work the following week!
A big hug from your "little" sister

Up to the next world heritage site…
